Composition 17“Finished this one at @3rdcoastclay a few weeks ago when I was doing a barrel firing with my students and managed to obtain the finish in one go this time. I did a wash of ferric chloride. Then, I wrapped it in miracle gro soaked twine and copper wire. Finished it up with some masking and copper tape before pouring a wash of copper sulfate I made with a student. There was residual tape that ended up oxidizing after the firing, I'm definitely not opposed to it. I am thinking about revisting thicker applications of slips and messing with additives for the next few forms, any suggestions?”
